A Brief Overview of UiPath Studio 2022.10 Updates



UiPath rolled out some interesting updates to its development IDE Studio 2022.10.

Below are the key features introduced, in the coming days I'll be adding a detailed description of each of them.

𝐋𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐜𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐦𝐢𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫

  • A tool to convert Windows-legacy projects to the latest compatible Windows projects (new project compatibility introduced in Studio 2021.10) .
𝐄𝐧𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞
  • Activities now get a new look and feel, and the input and additional configurations of activities have been moved to the advanced section of the activity.
  • Design experience is consistent across all Studio families, Studio, StudioX, and Studio Web.
𝐑𝐢𝐜𝐡 𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐥𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬​
  • New Design experience for each activity created in a library.
  • You can define, the color of the activity and the icon that needs to be displayed along with the activity.
  • Windows legacy projects do not support this feature.
  • Configure values for activities in libraries.
𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐫​
  •  One-stop shop for managing all resources, from variables and arguments to assets, queues, entities & processes.
  • Additional benefits such as Using keyboard shortcuts to copy, paste and delete variables and arguments and Bulk create variables and arguments and many more.
𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐕𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬
  •  Can now be created without having them pass as arguments to invoked workflows.
  • They can be used to secure REFramework variables such as Config, and TransactionItem and to avoid and simplify passing values between workflows.
𝐓𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐄𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫
  • View and Edit text files directly in Studio, for file types such as XML, JSON, c#, and VB​.
𝐊𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐨 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐤𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐖𝐞𝐛 𝐢𝐧 𝐬𝐲𝐧𝐜​
  • When you are developing cross-platform projects that are compatible with Studio Web you can push them to the cloud directly and have the two IDEs in sync.
